Good tidings, Fudgington loyal! Just in time for your yuletide shindigs and hurly-burlies, I bring to you a respectable recipe for a most scrumptious beverage that will certainly bring a tooth-filled smile to your jolly compatriots this season.
(Lest they be teetotalers. Then, you are better off offering them a swift kick in the britches as opposed to my succulent sippings!)
The recipe is as follows:
Professor Cornelius Von Fudgington's Holidaytime Heartwarmer
3 parts Rittenhouse Rye 100 proof
1 part Old Overholt Rye
1 part Campari
1 part sweet vermouth
1 part Fudgington Distilleries Brand™ Verte Absinthe (The only Spirit imbued with the Spirit of Edgar Degas!™)
1 part simple syrup
the juice from 1 1/2 pickled lemons
2 leaves of basil
1 part Creme de Menthe
1 cinnamon stick
1/2 package of Red Hots
1/2 part bacon dripping
2 Maraschino cherries (for garnish)
1 Peppermint Candy Cane (also for garnish)
1) Combine all spirits into a large, zinc cocktail shaker half full with ice cubes no more than 1 inch square but no less than 7/8 inches square. (Alternately, for pessimists, completely fill a large cocktail shaker with ice and empty half, then add spirits.) Shake until the exterior of shaker frosts or your appendages begin to ache, whichever comes first.
2) Muddle remaining ingredients in a medium to medium-large ceramic bowl, careful to retain all essential oils and essences.
3) Combine contents of shaker and bowl in an old boot. Garnish with cherries and swizzle with candy cane. Enjoy!
